M.D. SKI EXPRESS was founded in the fall of 1983 as a ski club with the premise to introduce the African American professional to the sport of snow skiing. By incorporating first class professional entertainment, lessons, meals and hotel accommodations into an all inclusive package, M.D. SKI EXPRESS has expanded to over 20 thousand participants within our 20 year history. Through our community based, grass roots effort, we have expanded our operation from being a Baltimore, MD based club to a club with participants who join from the city’s of Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Detroit, Connecticut, Texas, Columbia, S.C. Charlotte, N.C., and Boston MA.

Many perceive M.D. Ski to be the premiere single weekend ski event in the nation. Currently over 1500, and still growing, participants gather for our premier weekend. M.D. Ski weekends are centered around sports and entertainment. As a tradition, the event is held Super Bowl weekend and include extravagant theme parties and after hour parties. The event is concluded with one of the largest Super Bowl parties in the nation. As a part of your ski weekend, we have added national headline musical entertainment and comedian that take the M.D. Ski Experience to levels like no other weekend ski event.

Entertainment entities such as Will Downing, Cameo, Pieces of A Dream, Kim Waters, Roger Trotman and Zapp, Morris Day and the Time, Parliament/Funkadelic, Alex Bugnon, Marcus Johnson, and crowd favorite Spur of the Moment have performed at the M.D. ski weekends. Comedian Mo’nique from the hit TV series the Parkers, and original “Def Comedy Jam” guests Ted Carpenter, Chris Thomas, Kevin Lee, Mike Brooks, Sean Sarvis and many others have comedy jammed on the ski weekends. The strength of our program lies in our commitment to provide an entertainment based ski package with a large professional clientele from all regions of the United States.

Highlights of the M.D. Ski past programs include: Black to the Old School Party, 70’s theme, Afro-centric, Masquerade, international fashion show, pajama parties, business travel seminars, soul centered karaoke, skiing, poetry, spoken word , horseback riding, basketball tournaments, shopping and a multitude of DJ and live local entertainment. M.D. Ski Express offers the Ultimate “Black” Ski Experience.
